Vasilios Karidogiannis

  • City Councillor for L’Abord-à-Plouffe

In 2004, Vasilios chose to make Laval his home alongside his wife, with the goal of raising their family in the city. An entrepreneur at heart, he spent several years working within the family business before launching his own entrepreneurial venture in 2005, specializing in the textile care industry.

Demonstrating a strong commitment to community service, he has served as a Director on the boards of student associations, the Greek Workers’ Association of Quebec, the Syrtaki Folk Dance Group, the Hellenic Congress of Quebec, and the Sir Wilfrid Laurier Foundation.

Since his election, Vasilios has proven to be a proactive and highly engaged City Councillor. His ongoing focus on urban development issues was particularly evident through his involvement on the committee responsible for developing the City’s new land-use and development plan. He takes great pride in his contributions to shoreline enhancement projects, investments in parks and green spaces, and his involvement in advancing active transportation initiatives.

As Vice-Chair of the Board of Directors of the Société de transport de Laval (STL), he continues to advocate for residents’ interests within the Communauté métropolitaine de Montréal (CMM) and the Advisory Committee on Transportation and Sustainable Mobility. At the same time, his involvement with Alesia’s Magnolias, an organization he co-founded, reflects his dedication to the fight against childhood heart disease.

Vasilios has made it his mission to actively contribute to intercultural and intergenerational initiatives in Laval. His goal is to continue advancing changes that enhance residents’ quality of life by investing in cultural and sports infrastructure, public transit, and road safety.
