Sandra El-Helou

Initially trained as a French teacher, Sandra developed a valuable understanding of the challenges faced by children, youth, and their families, including learning and behavioural difficulties. Through this experience, she learned the importance of building meaningful human connections to address individual needs. This close relationship with families later led her to take on a variety of challenges, including as an entrepreneur, where she continued to place a strong emphasis on people and relationships.

As an Associate Member of the Executive Committee of the City of Laval, Sandra plays a key role as the elected official responsible for seniors’ affairs and universal accessibility. In this capacity, she works tirelessly to develop policies and initiatives that respond to the needs of these populations. She collaborates closely with a wide range of partners, including community organizations, to ensure that residents’ voices are heard and reflected in municipal decision-making, thereby fostering a collaborative approach.

In recognition of her exemplary and inspiring commitment to the Laval community, she was honoured to receive the King Charles III Coronation Medal, acknowledging the positive impact of her work on residents’ lives and highlighting her dedication to public service and humanistic values.

She openly states that her commitment to the Mouvement lavallois – Team Stéphane Boyer stems from a deep conviction that an ethical and competent administration strengthens the sense of pride felt by Laval residents, while working toward a city that is more equitable, accessible, and inclusive for all.
