Sylvain Yelle

  • City Councillor for Auteuil

For the past seven years, he served as Chief Executive Officer of exo, where he oversaw public transit services across Montréal’s North and South Shores, as well as the commuter rail network, including the Saint-Jérôme line, which serves three stations located within Laval.

With more than 30 years of experience in the public transit sector, including over 25 years with the Société de transport de Laval (STL), where he held several management positions and also worked for a number of years as a bus operator in Laval’s various neighbourhoods, he possesses a unique expertise in Laval’s public transportation system.

He holds a university certificate in Administration and Service Management. His community involvement includes serving as a Director on the Board of BIXI since 2021 and on the Board of La Centrale des Artistes de Laval from 2016 to 2020. Committed to his community, he has also volunteered with the Diapason music festival and Mosaïque.

As the father of four young adults, Sylvain believes deeply in the invaluable importance of community connections and civic engagement. In his view, land-use planning, public transit, and mobility must go hand in hand to create efficient cities where residents enjoy a high quality of life and benefit from well-designed infrastructure.
