STL Bus Network Redesign: A Mouvement lavallois Commitment Taking Shape

Laval, September 29, 2026 – Mouvement lavallois is reaching an important milestone in delivering on its commitment to redesign Laval’s bus network. This priority is part of our vision of a prosperous city that takes its place by supporting Laval’s economic development through more efficient mobility across the territory. The Société de transport de Laval (STL) is officially launching a public consultation as part of the bus network redesign process.
“The bus network redesign represents a unique opportunity to adapt our service to today’s and tomorrow’s realities. The last major redesign dates back to the arrival of the métro in Laval in 2007. At that time, the network was designed mainly to facilitate travel to métro stations and to Montréal. However, travel patterns have evolved, and a growing share of trips now takes place within Laval itself. It is therefore essential that our network evolve as well in order to provide simpler, faster routes that are better connected to the city’s main activity hubs. This public consultation will enable residents to contribute directly to this important transformation and help build a network that is better adapted to the needs of the population.”- Pierre Brabant, Chair of the Board of Directors of the Société de transport de Laval and City Councillor for Vimont
Mouvement lavallois invites all residents to participate in the STL’s public consultation. An online questionnaire and an interactive map are available on the Corporation’s website to collect comments, ideas and suggestions from the public. Workshops will also be held in Laval’s eastern, central and western sectors over the coming weeks. Public transit is an essential lever for improving mobility, supporting economic development and reducing road congestion. The bus network redesign therefore helps bring Mouvement lavallois’ vision to life: building a prosperous city that takes its place through more efficient travel and services that are better adapted to the needs of the population.
