  • City Councillor of Laval-des-Rapides
  • Associate Member of the City of Laval’s Executive Committee

Alexandre Warnet holds a master’s degree in international affairs from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva, Switzerland. He also holds a bachelor’s degree in Communications, Politics and Society and a certificate in history from UQÀM. A native of Laval-des-Rapides, Alexandre is deeply committed to his community and aspires to give back to the district where he grew up. His biggest dream is for Laval to become the greenest city in Quebec.

In 2017, he relaunched the Forum jeunesse Laval, an initiative aimed at fostering civic engagement among young Laval residents; he served as chairman until spring 2019. He subsequently sat on the Board of Directors of Laval’s Chambre de commerce et de l’industrie, which earned him the “Coup de cœur Bell de la Relève d’affaires” grant in 2020 for his community involvement.

Alexandre has also held key positions in various organizations, including on the watchdog committee for Laval’s Cultural Development Plan, as secretary-treasurer of the Conseil régional de l’environnement de Laval, and as the instigator and co-spokesperson of Laval en transition, a citizens’ movement to build a resilient, carbon-neutral Laval community.
